La Mer

This is a poem I wrote, one of my first attempts at poetry. Quite dumb lo. Prepare to laugh your heads off!

The Sea

Tonight I shall dream about the Sea,
A sea so vast, all just for me;
An ocean so blue that matches the skies,
The glimmering colour of thine eyes.

Tonight over fires I shall roast seagulls,
Chew on their meat, spit out their skulls;
I shall lie on the never-ending sand,
I will be with you, holding your hand.

Beyond this dream are troubles untold,
The world out there is cruel and cold;
So hold me tighter and tighter still,
Don't make me leave against my will.

Here on this enchanted shore I stand,
On this marvelous, wondrous piece of land;
How mightily the oceans before me roar,
And how surreal this world, this place, this shore.

So my love, look unto me,
Above the noise of the raging sea;
The stars above sing this silent night,
You undo my wrongs, you make things right.

Stand by me,
Here by the Sea,
Please my love, hear now plea.
My want to share this dream with thee,

By this Sea
Just You
and Me.
